Welcome to the Core Council Page

The Core Council is the generator of ideas that propel the organization forward. This core council meets regularly to dialogue about all aspects of the organization, all its member councils and events, its ongoing philosophy, current events, expenditure of finances, settling of logistical problems and concerns about the philosophy. No major decision effecting the overall well-being of the organization can take place without the explicit buy-in of the majority of members of the core council, including decisions on hosting conferences, establishing workshops or training programs bearing CTO/ ATA/ LA’s name, or any action or activity done under the aegis of the CTO/ ATA/ LA name.

The core council’s charge is to keep in mind the overall identity and desires of the group as they proceed in making decisions on behalf of the entire organization. The core council operates by a simple majority vote of the members present during the voting meetings and elects the Coordinator by majority vote once a year.
We invite you to submit all proposals to the Core Council. Please contact us if you would like us to bring a workshop to your school, city council, political campaign, or other organization. We also welcome those who teach their own liberation arts workshops to apply for a space in our calendar year. If you desire a more rigorous experience with CTO/ATA/LA, please feel free to come and sit in on a Core Council meeting. We look forward to hearing from you.
