Mady Schutzman, Coordinator

Hello and welcome to the Advisory Council page.

The Advisory Council for CTO/ATA/LA fosters both internal and external aspects of this coalition. Internally, we support CTO/ATA/LA as it establishes itself as and important grass-roots agency committed to social change. We see ourselves as “friendly board members” offering feedback concerning the internal structure and dynamics of the organization, as well as providing theoretical and scholarly resources when needed.

Externally, the Advisory Council is concerned with the relationships the CTO/ATA/LA can establish in Los Angeles, Southern California, as well as within the larger, international TO community. Locally, we will consult on how CTO/ATA/LA can work collaboratively with Los Angeles based organizations that support sociopolitical change. We will help promote dialogue with public agencies, not-for-profit organizations, schools, and cultural institutions of all kinds that might benefit from interactive performance workshops. We note a growing need in Los Angeles to provide training for individuals who are interested in liberation arts. To that end we will assist in promoting ongoing workshops for organization members and for expanding the membership community. We will serve to raise visibility and financial support for CTO/ATA/LA. Finally, on a national and international level, we will work to identify how the Los Angeles Center can assume an integral role within the larger TO community
